Many PayPal users visiting their account or the PayPal website may be getting unexpected security warnings and having login issues when attempting to access the site, confirmed a spokesman.

The problem appears to be connected to an SSL security certificate that is used by Ominture Inc., a company that PayPal is using to collect aggregate data about the people who use their website. SSL certificates are used by web browsers, such as Firefox and Internet Explorer to verify the authencity of a site and to let the users know if the site is spoofed or not. The problem affected a small portion of PayPal users.
